Half of the grapes spent 4 months on the skins. The whole natural juice matured then on the lees. No sulfites added.

The Sol from Michael Gindl is a cuvée of two indegenous austrian grape varieties, Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and Grüner Veltliner. The wine was named after the very first ever documented vineyard of the village of Hohenruppersdorf. The wine is complex and exciting. The flavours in the 2015 vintage mutate from citrus to lime flower blossom to peanut. The color is intense and it changes every day, it gets darker (probably a slight color oxidation). Impossible not to finish this bottle on one day anyway!

Natural wines – back on the horse

Michael is super passionate about biodynamic farming and his wines are full of soul. In the vineyard, he has a lot of help from his sheep, horses, and Bessi (his cow). He shows his commitment to his beloved animal on his natural wine labels. You might recognize his buzzard labels – Buteo. Very complex and minerality driven white wines. His wines are also known as mg vom sol.
