Franz Weninger is probably one of the most "natural" and sustainable wine producer in Austria. He is not only working biodynamically since 2006, but he is also promoting biodiversity in the vineyards and help the local fauna to thrive. Weninger's vineyards are located in Burgenland and in Sopron, Hungary. His wines reflect perfectly both terroirs, they are telling us the history they share, their differences, their similarities and how great it is a wine without borders!

Key Grapes and Wines

The Weningers are especially known for Blaufränkisch (Kékfrankos), the flagship red grape of Burgenland and Sopron. Across different vineyard sites and soils, it shows dark berry fruit, sour cherry, and spicy, elegant tannins.
Other highlights include:

Furmint – crisp, mineral, citrus-driven white
Welschriesling – light, refreshing, full of energy
Pinot Blanc (Fehérburgundi) – concentrated, pure and expressive
